How to Plan a Catered Dinner

Believe it or not, having a dinner catered also requires some planning on the part of the host or people that are putting the event on. To make sure that your catered dinner and event runs smoothly, there are a couple of points that you should consider when having a catered meal.

Order a Smaller Meal Ahead of Time

One of the first things that you can do to make sure that the food will be great is to actually order a small meal from the people that you will be doing business with. You can order some of the food just for your family, to see how the food is and ow well the business is run. You do not want to have your planned event and then have the food arrive late or have the meal taste lousy, so actually ordering a meal and testing it ahead of time is a great idea. ( You can always order a meal for your family from us. Here is our menu delivery Lexington.) Also this gives you a good opportunity to see how the staff is attentive to your needs and what they will provide and what they will not.

You want to make sure that if you are having a large event catered that you know whether or not if the catering business that you are dealing with has staff that will serve the food to your guests or not. There have been many events planned where important decisions like that have not been addressed. You also want to find out what types of serving dishes and other items are going to be furnished as well.

The Most Important Thing You Can Do

One of the key secrets to planning an event that is to be catered is to plan well ahead of the event. Too many times, things get over looked by the hosts or planners that should have been thought of. If you plan early you will have enough time in advance to head off some of these factors that you may have forgotten or not even thought about. Also, the people that do the catering are not wizards. Giving them an early notice helps them to prepare and communicate with you about what your needs ill be for your event. A good rule of thumb is to try to communicate with your caterer at least 2 weeks to a month ahead of time for a large event. This will help you head off any complications that may arise.

One last thing that you should try to do is communicate and reconfirm your event and status with the caterer several times to make sure that the event goes as planned. Following these rules will help your catered event be a wonderful experience and success!
